This mailing list was originally created to facilitate discussions about extensions to NNTP during the mid 1990's when the IETF NNTP WG was working on revisiong RFC 977. Unfortunately, SPAM was on the rise and mailing lists like this were a target. Despite taking preventative measures to control it, the usefulness of the list was reduced and it was retired in early 2005.
Archives are still available, but the list itself has been retired.
