Since January 1996:
aut-num objects that had been manufactured from PRDB and
duplicated in other registries deleted in early February.
There are 120 RADB aut-num objects. Seven of them are unique
to the RADB (and have policy).
324 RADB aut-num objects without policy and unregistered in other
registries. 13 without policy are duplicated elsewhere.
A www page exists for checking for duplicates exists.
A transaction graph is available. August, 1995 and October 1995 were both large number add months. October 1995 was also a big month for add failures.
BGP Updates are tracked from the route servers. This information is also available on-line.
There are a large number of 16 bit routes (4355) and 24 bits (over 31,000).
The following organizations register policy in the RADB and prefer routes from the Route Server: ESNET, Pipex, Delphi and Advantis.
Peering with the Route Server make is possible to have only one BGP Peer at the exchange that covers all other peers with the RS.
The software is public domain, Unix-based, and derived from GateD.
Features:
The software is in use at MAE-East, MAE-West and NAPs.
Additional features are planned:
Configuration format for Cisco, Gated and RSd.
The latest version (for Cisco) has just been released.
It is implemented in C++ and C. It used bison and flex.
Filters are based on nlri, as-path and community (coming soon).
Attribute handing is available as well.
How to use it?
The rest of the RAToolSet contains other things:
peval, pmatch, prpath, RtConfig and CIDR AssistantFor more information: http://www.isi.edu/~cengiz/software
Helps in CIDRization to minimize routing table sizes. Examines policies and identifies potential aggregates.
It has multiple levels and can provide recommendations based on which level is selected.
