- Local Exchange Point access
- Better Local Upstream connectivity
Filtering
- Unwanted Data (NEWS, SPAM)
- Hard to do. Takes lots of time.
- We need to be able to filtering down to the user level
- We don't accept binaries in our spool
- We are very concerned about ownership of images and getting sued for spooling
- The image.
- DoS Attacks (SMURFS, SYN Flood, etc)
- Takes lots of time
- We don't get quick help from the upstreams on getting this filtered.
- The folks who could install the filter are not available.
- The provider is worried about the impact of filters on their router performance.
- Inter-provider help is tracking down the source of attacks is problematical.
- More filtering at the edges would be good.
- Bogus Route Announcements
Local Exchange Points
- Local Exchanges are Good.
- Most exchanges are on the E/W coast
Better Local Upstream
- DS3 service is not available in our market locations
- Must be back-hauled from outside New Mexico
