CAIDA is being jump started by the NSF and eventually intended to be self-supporting. CAIDA emphasizes data acquisition and analysis of Internet performance. CAIDA desires to help coordinate the various efforts that are underway to do this work. There are a number of focus areas.

Bill Norton asks: Most folks at NANOG are not using these tools. Why? I don't think the community knows enough about them. That's one of the reasons I am here. CAIDA also wants to make them more attractive.
