MEDs are BGP attributes associated with a route.
Allow route sender to tell receiver how to weigh different occurrences if the same route.
This makes good sense when certain kinds of links are costly or smaller in a mesh.
MEDs should only be used at the edge and should go no further into a cloud.
MEDs use should be negotiated with peers.
