Statistics
Phone calls has increase dramatically (9000 calls per week currently).
There is a good coorelation between backlog and phone calls.
Hostmaster continues to increase. Currently 100,000 items per month, or about
3Gb per month.
Domain Name Growth continues to grow wildly.
IP allocations has been pretty flat. The number of requests have gone down
since Sprint's filters have been in place.
whois hits are over 12 million during the last month. There are
currently five machines servicing this function.
a.root-servers.net has been attacked by bogus-query attempts and those
queries continue. The dips are over the weekends and peak on Tuesdays.
Technical
Two lines have been requsitioned from MCI. Two from UUNET. The BBN Planet
line is being rehomed. There is a FDDI backbone with the various machines
used in productions.
Autoreg is 11 months old. 80% are never seen by a human. 50% are not seen
by a human. Common errors: Changing IP address of server, not listing
handle when already registered.

- 15 day notices sent to billing contact and postal mail to domain
holder -- ATTN: President
- 0 day notice and domain put on hold starting on June 7. Email will
be sent to everyone.

- When are planning to double your phone lines? Will it coincide with
these dates? No.

Comment: The MIL NIC handles are not the same as the InterNIC NIC
handles. There should be a specific notice to this effect.
