ANS has a POP in Dallas connected via DS/3.
AS690 is dead.
AS1673 Baynetworks is now in production.
ANS Cisco 7000/7500 for concentrators
Currently, adding capacity
- More private interconnects
- More capacity (multiple DS/3s) (No OC-3 at this time)
- More capacity at the public NAPS
ANS loss is close to zero and lower than any of the major providers (according
to Merit's "netnow" data).
Current Priorities
- Stability
- No non-congestion loss at all (to a stable destnation)
- No backbone congestion loss
Ongoing
- Good response on congested tail circuits
- integrated services (video conferencing and others)
- higher bandwidth solutions (multiple DS-3s will work through 1996, but
need more in 1997)
