College Bowl® is a question-and-answer game played between two
teams of four players, who answer questions derived from many different

About College Bowl at Rice University
College Bowl® has been played at Rice University continuously
since 1977. The Rice Intramural College Bowl Tournament is run by a group
of Rice staff and alumni volunteers through an arrangement with the Rice
Office of Student Activities.
The Rice Quiz Bowl Club
There is now a student organization called the
Rice Quiz Bowl Club.
The Quiz Bowl Club allows students to hold practices, determine varsity
rosters, and organize trips to intercollegiate quiz tournaments.
Qualifying for College Bowl
To qualify to play College Bowl at Rice, you must field a team of current
students (which must consist between four and five players only one of
which may be a graduate student) and pay a token registration fee. To qualify
for official College Bowl play at the regional and national levels, it
is necessary to have played at least one game in the intramural tournament.
Rice is in the Association of College Unions-International
(ACU-I) Region 12, which consists of Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas.
The schedule and roster list for registered teams has been posted for the 2007 Fall Intramural tournament.
The winner of this tournament will participate in the Regional tournament as the Rice University team. The regional tournament will be February 21-24, 2008 at the University of Houston.
